We are looking for an ambitious Senior Estimator who thrives in a dynamic environment and takes pride in turning complex project details into clear, accurate, and commercially sound pricing. We have three offices across the UK: our Head Office in Norwich, Norfolk; our London and Southeast office in Rainham, Essex; and our Southwest and Midlands office in Oxford. This role can be based at any of our three locations. We are happy to discuss which office suits you best.

Specification Review & Scope Definition
- Review and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, schedules and design information.
- Break down project documentation to identify scope, risks, gaps and cost drivers.
- Develop clear pricing structures based on actual scope of works rather than assumptions.
- Clarify specification requirements and ensure all elements are properly accounted for in pricing.
Cost Estimating & Quantification
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and pricing models for refurbishment and fit-out works.
- Carry out quantification and take-offs from drawings.
- Analyse specifications to ensure materials, finishes and systems are correctly priced.
- Use historical project data to inform pricing decisions and improve accuracy.
Subcontractor & Supplier Management
- Obtain and analyse quotations from specialist subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assess quotes against specifications to ensure compliance and completeness.
- Build detailed subcontract packages and pricing breakdowns.
Commercial & Risk Management
- Identify commercial and technical risks within specifications and drawings.
- Highlight potential scope gaps or design ambiguities that may affect cost.
- Support value engineering discussions and contribute to commercial strategy.
Project Handover & Collaboration
- Provide detailed cost breakdowns and scope clarification during handover to delivery teams.
- Ensure operations teams clearly understand pricing assumptions and structures.
- Collaborate effectively with design teams, project managers and subcontractors throughout the bid process.
Essential
- Minimum 5 years' estimating experience in construction.
- Proven experience in fit-out, refurbishment or interior construction projects.
- Strong ability to interpret specifications, drawings and schedules.
- Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficient in Excel and estimating software.
- Good understanding of construction methods and sequencing.
Desirable
- Degree or qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar.
- Experience working with JCT contracts.
- Knowledge of cost planning and commercial risk management.
- Analytical thinker who enjoys breaking down complex specifications and project information.
- Detail-oriented, with a sharp eye for scope gaps and inconsistencies.
- Commercially aware and able to price work realistically and competitively.
- Strong communicator who can work confidently with design teams, subcontractors and project managers.
- Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously.
