Senior Quantity Surveyor - Civil Engineering.
McM are recruiting on behalf of a leading regional civil engineering contractor for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing commercial team based in Leeds.
With a strong pipeline of secured work across Environment Agency, Northumbrian Water AMP8 and wider civil engineering infrastructure projects, this is an opportunity to join a business delivering essential schemes that improve local communities whilst benefiting from genuine career progression and long-term job security.
The Role
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in the commercial management of a diverse portfolio of projects from pre-construction through to final account.
Projects will include:
- Environment Agency flood alleviation and environmental improvement schemes.
- Northumbrian Water AMP8 wastewater infrastructure projects.
- Civil engineering and infrastructure works for local authorities and public sector clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the commercial performance of multiple projects across Yorkshire and the North East.
- Administering NEC contracts and ensuring contractual compliance.
- Preparing cost reports, forecasts, valuations and financial reporting.
- Managing subcontract procurement and subcontract accounts.
- Identifying commercial risks and opportunities throughout project lifecycles.
- Supporting operational teams to maximise project performance and profitability.
- Negotiating compensation events, variations and final accounts.
- Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering, utilities, infrastructure or environmental projects.
- Strong knowledge of NEC contracts.
- Experience managing projects from tender through to completion.
- Commercially astute with excellent contractual and financial awareness.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Degree qualified, or equivalent, in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Full UK driving licence.
