Job Overview
Berties Fish and Chips are seeking a dedicated Pot Washer to join our busy kitchen team. This role is essential in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our culinary environment, ensuring that all dishes and kitchenware are hygienic and ready for use. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a positive attitude, and a passion for supporting high standards of food preparation and hospitality. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a professional kitchen setting and develop skills relevant to the hospitality industry.
The hours available are: Monday and Tuesday evening 7pm-9.15pm, Friday 7pm-9.45pm and every other Sunday evening until the end of October 7pm-9.15pm but this could be removed if trade dies off after the school holidays.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash, rinse, and dry pots, pans, utensils, and other kitchen equipment according to hygiene standards.
- Ensure all items are properly sanitised and stored in designated areas.
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, including organising supplies and ingredients.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, and storage spaces.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times to ensure a safe working environment.
- Support the kitchen team with additional duties during busy periods or as directed by supervisors.
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or kitchen environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided.
- Experience working in restaurants, hotels, or catering establishments is advantageous.
- Knowledge of basic culinary practices or hospitality operations can be beneficial.
- A positive attitude towards teamwork and willingness to learn new skills are essential qualities for success in this role.
