Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Sunday Cook / Kitchen Assistant to join our team. This role involves preparing and serving meals in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring a high standard of food safety and hygiene. Duties
- Prepare and cook meals according to specified recipes and dietary requirements
- Assist with food preparation tasks, including chopping, mixing, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area in accordance with food safety standards
- Serve meals to residents or guests in a courteous and timely manner
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health and safety regulations
- Assist with stock control, including checking deliveries and storing supplies appropriately
- Support other kitchen staff as needed during busy periods or special events
Experience
- Previous experience in food preparation or cooking is preferred, ideally within a restaurant or catering environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Experience working in a busy kitchen setting, demonstrating organisational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and culinary practices is advantageous
- Prior experience serving meals or working directly with customers or residents is desirable
