Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SENCo to support the leadership team in overseeing educational programmes and childcare services. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a background in early childhood education, and experience working with children. This role involves assisting with daily operations, mentoring staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality educational activities. The SENCo will play a vital part in fostering a nurturing environment that promotes learning, behaviour management, and developmental progress for children across various age groups.
Responsibilities
- Assist the SLT in planning and implementing educational programmes aligned with organisational goals.
- Support staff in delivering specialised activities such as speech therapy, physical education, and behavioural interventions.
- Oversee classroom environments to ensure safety, organisation, and engaging learning experiences.
- Mentor and supervise teaching staff, providing guidance on behaviour management, curriculum delivery, and child engagement strategies.
- Coordinate with external specialists such as speech therapists or behaviour analysts to support individualised learning plans.
- Monitor children's progress and contribute to assessment reports, ensuring documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Organise training sessions for staff on topics including applied behaviour analysis, tutoring techniques, and childcare best practices.
- Assist in maintaining compliance with regulatory standards related to early childhood education and special education needs.
- Support the organisation of extracurricular activities such as tutoring sessions or physical education classes.
Experience
- Proven experience working with children in early childhood education settings, including preschool or toddler care.
- Knowledge of special education practices and behaviour management techniques.
- Experience in teaching or mentoring young learners is desirable.
- Familiarity with speech therapy techniques, applied behaviour analysis (ABA), or tutoring is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with staff, parents, and external professionals.
- Previous supervisory or mentoring experience within childcare or educational environments is preferred.

Pay: £50,000.00-£59,194.00 per year
