My client is a multi disciplined main contractor and their specialist division encompassing fit-out, commercial furniture facilities management and minor building works on projects up to £5m are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join this division on high value contracts.
What you will be doing
- Attend scope survey’s and assist with preparation of cost estimates
- Procurement of the Supply Chain and preparation of order documentation in accordance with company management systems
- Assessment and certification of Sub-Contractor interim payments ensuring the appropriate notices are issued
- Preparation of Interim Valuations and Final Account submissions
- Managing and valuing Variation accounts
- Assist with the preparation of Extension of Time claims and Loss and Expense submissions
- Identification and management of Commercial risks
- Production of accurate monthly Cost Value Reconciliation reports and forecasting
- Report directly to the Commercial Manager
- Establish, maintain and enhance effective working relationships
- Ensure effective interaction between the commercial and operational site teams
What We’re Looking For
- Degree Qualified Candidate
- A proven track record in Construction
- Proactive approach, take Initiative and willingness to accept responsibility
- Good knowledge of construction contracts particularly the JCT & NEC Forms of Contract
- Sound Commercial Awareness
- Ability to complete take offs and price variations unaided
- Excellent communication & negotiation skills
- High levels of organisational skills and time management
- Excellent numerical, IT and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel to site, as and when required.
