Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and organised Activity Co-ordinator to enhance the quality of life for residents in a care home specialising in senior care, including dementia and Alzheimer's care. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, organising, and facilitating engaging activities tailored to residents’ needs, fostering social interaction, mental stimulation, and overall well-being. Duties
- Develop and implement a diverse programme of activities suitable for residents with varying levels of mobility and cognitive abilities, including those with dementia or Alzheimer's.
- Entertainment sessions, and individualised activities that promote socialisation and mental engagement.
- Maintain detailed activity records and personalise activity plans based on residents’ preferences and care requirements.
- Collaborate closely with care staff to ensure activities align with individual care plans and safety protocols.
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation from all residents, respecting their dignity and independence.
- Monitor residents’ responses to activities and adapt programmes accordingly to maximise engagement and enjoyment.
Qualifications
- Experience working within a nursing home environments is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills are essential for engaging with residents, families, and team members effectively.
- Demonstrated organisational skills with the ability to plan and execute varied activities tailored to individual needs.
- Compassionate approach with a genuine interest in enhancing the quality of life for older adults.
- A recognised qualification in activity coordination, social work, or related fields would be beneficial but is not essential. Hours 10am to 4pm including alternative weekends.
DBS required at the cost of the applicant.
Pay: £12.82 per hour
