Job Summary
Blue Bear Transport are looking to recruit a highly organised and detail-oriented Transport Planner/Administrator to join our team. Having recently recruited and expanded the offices, the business needs to have more cover during each shift. Candidates will be required to cover shifts between 6am-3pm and 9am-6pm.
The successful candidate will be responsible for planning loads, dealing with customers and drivers and ensuring the smooth communication between departments. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong administrative and planning skills to contribute to the efficiency of our logistics operations. The position is suitable for applicants who thrive in a fast-paced, professional setting ideally with a background in scheduling or having worked within a transport environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and update transportation schedules using relevant software tools.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, pickups and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Coordinate communication between drivers, clients and internal departments via phone and email.
- Prepare and process documentation related to transport operations.
- Utilise computer programmes such as Microsoft Office for data entry and reporting purposes.
- Handle incoming calls with professional phone etiquette, addressing inquiries efficiently.
- Allocate loads to the relevant sized vehicles from vans to articulated trucks.
- Assist in resolving logistical issues promptly to minimise delays or disruptions.
Requirements
- Proven transport experience with a strong background in administration and planning.
- Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong typing skills with attention to accuracy and detail.
- Good phone etiquette with clear communication abilities.
- Experience working with transport or logistics-related documentation is desirable.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining a collaborative approach when needed. This role is ideal for organised professionals eager to support efficient transport operations within a dynamic organisation.
