Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to residents in care homes or individuals receiving home care. This role involves assisting with daily activities, ensuring residents' comfort and safety, and supporting their individual care plans. Duties
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Support residents with mobility and transfers, ensuring safety at all times
- Help with meal preparation and feeding as required
- Monitor residents' health and report any changes to senior staff
- Maintain accurate records of care provided in accordance with care plans
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Support the organisation of activities that promote wellbeing and social engagement
- Ensure the cleanliness and hygiene of the care environment according to health and safety standards
Experience
- Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate
- Driving licence is advantageous for roles involving home visits or community-based support
- Familiarity with developing or following care plans is beneficial
- Good IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with residents and team members
