Jack Nicholas Group Ltd are looking for a Metal Finisher / Fettler to join our busy workshop team in Baldock.
This role would suit someone with experience working with metal who takes pride in producing a clean, high-quality finish before items move on to powder coating or final dispatch.
The main part of the role will involve finishing and fettling metalwork, preparing items for powder coating, wiping down completed items, and helping with general preparation work in the downstairs area.
Main duties include:
- Fettling and finishing metal components to a high standard
- Grinding, sanding, deburring, cleaning and preparing metalwork
- Preparing items ready for powder coating
- Wiping down finished products
- Checking work for marks, sharp edges or defects
- Assisting with downstairs preparation work
- Keeping the work area clean, tidy and safe
- Helping with other workshop duties when required
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in metal finishing, fettling, grinding or similar workshop work
- Good attention to detail
- The ability to work to a clean and consistent standard
- A practical, hands-on approach
- Good timekeeping and reliability
- The ability to work as part of a team
Experience within architectural metalwork, fabrication, powder coating preparation or sheet metal work would be an advantage, but training can be provided for the right person.
