Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Van Driver/Stores Person to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collection/delivery of goods, managing stock within the premises, and ensuring smooth logistics operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in commercial driving and warehouse management to contribute to a dynamic organisation. The position requires a professional attitude, strong organisational skills, and the ability to work efficiently both on the road and within the storage facilities.
Duties
- Experience within Groundworks/Construction desirable
- Safely operate company vans for local deliveries and collections in accordance with road safety regulations.
- Load and unload goods, ensuring items are handled with care and secured properly during transit.
- Manage stock levels within the warehouse, including receiving deliveries, storing items appropriately, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Conduct routine vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensure all delivery documentation is completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Communicate effectively with suppliers, and team members regarding delivery schedules and stock requirements.
- Assist in heavy lifting tasks within the warehouse, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving commercial driving.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience working in a warehouse environment is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for stock management.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and clients.
- Good knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws relevant to commercial driving.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team. This role is ideal for motivated individuals looking to utilise their driving expertise while contributing to efficient logistical operations within a professional setting.
Pay: £12.71 per hour
