We are currently supporting a children’s residential care provider with the recruitment for a Deputy Manager in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Registered Manager to support the day-to-day leadership and operation of the service, ensuring children and young people receive safe, high-quality care.
The role involves supporting 3 children presenting with EBD and challenging behaviours.
This is a permanent, full time role.
Salary: £36,000 - £38,500 per annum + £70 per sleep in.
Shifts: Mixture of shift work and office hours.
Contracted Hours: 40 hours per week
Candidates must have previous experience within children’s residential care, along with a Level 3 in Residential Childcare and Full UK Driving License.
Key responsibilities:
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the daily running of the children’s home
- Leading shifts and providing guidance to the staff team
- Ensuring care plans and risk assessments are accurate and regularly reviewed
- Supporting the development and wellbeing of the children within the service
- Assisting with staff supervision, training and performance management
- Ensuring the service operates in line with safeguarding and regulatory standards
- Supporting with audits, inspections and internal quality checks
- Maintaining positive working relationships with families, social workers and external professionals
