Edge Electrical Solutions Limited is a family-run electrical contracting business specialising in mobile telecoms network infrastructure. We carry out a wide range of AC and DC electrical works across the UK, including installation, testing, commissioning support and site surveys for mobile network infrastructure.
We work closely with climbing teams, commissioners, civils teams and other site disciplines to support mobile network upgrades and ensure work is completed safely, professionally and to the required standard.
The Role
We are looking for a Telecoms Electrician to join our team. The role involves carrying out electrical installation, inspection, testing and survey work on mobile telecoms sites across the UK.
This position would suit an electrician from an industrial or telecoms background who is confident working on AC and DC systems, understands BS 7671 requirements and is willing to travel as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
Carrying out AC and DC electrical installation work in line with BS 7671.
Completing additions and alterations to existing electrical installations.
Inspecting, testing and verifying new and existing installations.
Producing accurate test results and understanding their relevance to the wiring regulations.
Completing electrical site surveys.
Taking clear site photographs and submitting required information to the office.
Maintaining high standards of health and safety while on site.
Working professionally with clients, team members and other contractors.
Required Skills and Experience
The successful candidate should have:
A good understanding of the current edition of BS 7671.
Knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations.
Understanding of inspection, testing, verification, certification and reporting procedures.
Level 3 Electrical Installation qualification, or equivalent to City & Guilds 2365.
ECS Gold Card.
Current edition BS 7671 qualification.
Basic computer and document processing skills.
Full UK driving licence.
Willingness to work away from home when required.
Flexibility to work occasional weekends.
Desirable Skills and Experience -
The following would be beneficial, but training can be provided where required:
City & Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing, or equivalent.
Experience working in the mobile telecommunications industry.
Experience working on AC and DC telecoms systems.
Working at Height certification.
Radio Frequency Awareness.
First Aid.
