Please note this position is a fixed-term contract for approximately 12 months to cover maternity leave.
As Senior Alumni and Supporter Relations Manager (East Asia), you will lead alumni engagement activity across key East Asian markets, including Hong Kong, Singapore and Japan. Managing relationships with influential alumni, volunteers and supporters, you will play a key role in strengthening connections with UCL and supporting the university’s strategic priorities through advocacy, volunteering and philanthropy.
Working closely with colleagues across Advancement and the wider university, you will develop and deliver high-quality engagement initiatives, events and communications that build affinity and create meaningful opportunities for connection and collaboration. You will also support UCL’s bicentenary celebrations and the Here, it will happen campaign, helping to grow a vibrant global alumni community and strengthen UCL’s supporter pipeline.
This is a highly visible international-facing role, requiring the confidence to represent UCL independently and alongside senior university leaders. The successful candidate will be willing and able to undertake international travel, including regular visits to key East Asian markets.
We are happy to consider applications to work on a part-time/flexible basis wherever possible (minimum 0.8 FTE – equivalent of 4 days per week, stated salary to be pro-rata).
This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of 20% on site.

You will have experience building and managing relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior and influential individuals, and will be confident operating with diplomacy, sound judgement and credibility. You will bring experience from alumni relations, philanthropy, membership organisations, stakeholder engagement, volunteer management or a related field, together with excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
You will be highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously, and comfortable balancing strategic thinking with practical delivery. Strong influencing skills and the ability to work effectively across a complex organisation are essential.
Given the focus of this role on East Asian alumni engagement, you will either be fluent in Cantonese or have significant experience living and/or working in a Cantonese-speaking environment, enabling you to build meaningful relationships and engage effectively with alumni communities across the region.
