JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking a highly organised, proactive, and enthusiastic Wraparound Childcare Area Manager Manager to lead and support our wraparound childcare provision across a cluster of partner schools. This role combines hands-on setting management with wider operational oversight, including direct responsibility for one wraparound setting and support for a further four settings.
As Wraparound Childcare Area Manager Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring all provisions are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safeguarding, compliance, and customer experience. You will work closely with Setting Managers, Play Leaders, school partners, and parents to maintain safe, engaging, and well-organised environments where children can thrive before and after the school day.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and developing staff teams,monitoring operational performance, maintaining compliance with Ofsted and health & safety requirements, and driving continuous improvement across the cluster. You will also act as Camp Delivery Lead during holiday camp periods, providing operational leadership to ensure programmes are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with Primary Education's standards.

Key Responsibilities
Wraparound Provision Management
- Manage the day-to-day operations of one designated wraparound childcare setting.
- Provide operational oversight and support across four additional wraparound settings.
- Coordinate the delivery of breakfast clubs, after-school clubs, and wraparound childcare provision.
- Ensure all settings operate to high standards of quality, organisation, safeguarding, and professionalism.
- Monitor attendance, occupancy, staffing performance, and parent satisfaction across the cluster.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with schools, parents, children, and key stakeholders.
- Act as a key operational contact for partner schools and support Setting Managers with school relationships.
- Ensure all delivery aligns with Primary Education's values, policies, and operational standards.
- Support the continuous improvement and growth of wraparound provision across the cluster.
Line Management & Staff Support
- Provide day-to-day line management and support for Setting Managers, Play Leaders, and wraparound staff.
- Complete regular performance reviews and provide coaching, feedback, and development support.
- Support staffing rotas, cover arrangements, and workforce planning across all settings.
- Assist with staff recruitment, onboarding, induction, and training.
- Monitor staff performance, punctuality, professionalism, and safeguarding
- compliance.
- Conduct regular setting visits, observations, and quality assurance checks.
- Promote a positive, professional, and supportive team culture.
- Ensure company expectations and best practices are implemented consistently across all settings.
Compliance, Safeguarding & Quality Assurance
- Maintain overall responsibility for compliance across all assigned settings.
- Ensure settings operate in accordance with Ofsted requirements, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety regulations.
- Monitor attendance records, accident logs, medication records, and safeguarding documentation.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and quality assurance visits.
- Support staff in managing and reporting safeguarding concerns appropriately.
- Ensure Ofsted boards and compliance documentation are accurate and up to date.
- Implement improvement plans where standards fall below expectations.
Risk Assessment, Welfare & Health & Safety
- Ensure risk assessments are reviewed, updated, and implemented across all settings.
- Conduct regular health and safety audits and inspections.
- Monitor the safety of environments, equipment, and activities.
- Ensure staff understand and sign relevant risk assessments and safety procedures.
- Investigate, report, and support follow-up actions relating to accidents and incidents.
- Promote a culture of safety and risk awareness throughout the cluster.
Food Hygiene & Operational Standards
- Ensure all settings operate in line with food hygiene regulations and company procedures.
- Monitor food preparation, storage, serving procedures, and allergen management.
- Oversee food ordering and stock management processes.
- Ensure dietary requirements, allergies, and medical needs are managed effectively.
- Conduct regular food hygiene and cleanliness checks.
- Support staff training and compliance with food hygiene standards.
Child Welfare & Medical Management
- Ensure all children's medical, dietary, allergy, and care records remain accurate and up to date.
- Monitor medication storage, administration procedures, and record keeping.
- Ensure first aid kits are maintained and settings have appropriate first aid cover.
- Promote safe, inclusive, and child-centred environments.
- Support positive behaviour management and wellbeing initiatives.
Administration & Operational Reporting
- Complete and oversee administration linked to wraparound delivery and operational performance.
- Maintain accurate attendance records, staffing records, compliance documentation, and reports.
- Review weekly setting reports and monitor key performance indicators.
- Provide operational updates and reports to senior management.
- Monitor occupancy levels and support attendance growth strategies.
- Ensure organisational systems and records are maintained accurately and efficiently.
Holiday Camps & Events
- Support the planning, organisation, compliance, and operational delivery of holiday course provision.
- Assist the Holiday Course Manager with staffing, resources, venues, and programme logistics.
- Ensure risk assessments, registers, safeguarding records, medication records, and compliance documentation are completed and maintained accurately.
- Conduct quality assurance visits and compliance checks during holiday course delivery.
- Act as Camp Delivery Lead during allocated holiday camp programmes.
- Manage daily camp operations, including staffing, schedules, resources, safeguarding, and participant welfare.
- Support camp teams to ensure high-quality delivery and positive experiences for children.
- Act as a point of contact for camp staff, parents, and venue partners during delivery.
- Monitor camp performance, attendance, and operational standards, contributing to post-camp reviews and continuous improvement.
Business Development & Growth
- Support the growth and expansion of wraparound provision within the local area.
- Identify opportunities to improve occupancy, parent engagement, and customer experience.
- Support the onboarding of new settings and school partnerships.
- Represent Primary Education professionally at meetings, school events, and community activities.
- Contribute ideas and initiatives that support organisational growth and continuous improvement.

- Ensure all activities are delivered in line with safeguarding, health and safety, and company procedures.
- Follow safeguarding reporting procedures and act appropriately on all welfare concerns.

Person Specification
Essential
- Experience managing or supervising childcare, wraparound care, out-of-school clubs, holiday camps, or similar children's services.
- Experience leading or supervising staff teams.
- Experience working directly with children and young people.
- Strong organisational, communication, and people-management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities across several settings.
- Understanding of safeguarding, health & safety, and child welfare responsibilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Enhanced DBS Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle to travel between settings
- Availability to work before-school and after-school operational hours, with occasional holiday camp requirements.
Desirable
- Experience managing multiple childcare settings or teams.
- Experience within an Ofsted-regulated childcare environment.
- Experience line managing managers or senior staff.
- Experience supporting the launch of new childcare provisions.
- Experience delivering holiday camps or enrichment programmes.

- Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Playwork, Education, or a related field.
- Level 5 qualification in Leadership & Management, Childcare, or Education.

- Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) training.
- Experience using childcare management and booking systems.

Pay: £25,500.00-£27,000.00 per year
