This position has become available due to continued growth in our business. The role based at our Head Office in Chippenham, however the successful candidate will also be required to travel to project sites periodically as needed to fulfil the responsibilities of the role.

Reporting to: Head of Projects and Engineering
We are looking for a Project Manager to join our supportive and experienced team, delivering some of our larger wastewater treatment projects with a focus on delivering our thermal dryer technology, with typical project values of £5m-£10m. In this role, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of the projects, managing the technical, commercial, contractual, and programme aspects from initial design through to commissioning and handover.

You will work closely with customers, suppliers, site managers as well as colleagues in the UK and at our headquarters in Germany to deliver high-quality wastewater treatment solutions that help protect and enhance the environment.
What you will do:
- Take overall ownership of assigned projects, ensuring successful delivery from contract award through to commissioning and final handover.
- Manage project scope, budgets, programmes, risks, and resources to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
- Work closely with clients, and our design and project teams in Germany to develop effective engineering solutions that meet project requirements.
- Review customer specifications, contractual obligations, technical requirements, and commercial terms to ensure project success.
- Check and approve project drawings, design documentation, and risk assessments as required.
- Organise and lead project review meetings with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders, covering technical, commercial, programme, and risk management aspects.
- Monitor and report project performance and proactively implement corrective actions where required.
- Ensure projects comply with relevant contractual, legal, quality, environmental, and technical requirements.
- Manage project documentation, purchase orders, correspondence, budgets, forecasts, and programme updates.
- Coordinate internal departments, site managers, installation supervisors, suppliers, subcontractors, and commissioning teams to ensure efficient project execution.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers through regular communication, site visits, and effective stakeholder management.
- Ensure customer complaints and project issues are resolved promptly and professionally.
- Oversee commissioning activities and validate installation performance to ensure project objectives are achieved as necessary.
- Ensure customers are invoiced promptly and that commercial objectives are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Support continuous improvement by providing feedback on project planning, budgeting, delivery processes, and lessons learned.
What you will bring:
- Project Management Experience: A level of formal qualification in project management for example APM (PMQ/APMP) or Prince 2 and a minimum 5 years of advanced level project management, managing engineering or construction projects, ideally within the water, wastewater, environmental, process, or industrial sectors.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and drive projects to successful completion.
- Commercial Awareness: Strong understanding of project budgets, procurement, contracts, cost control, and financial performance.
- Technical Understanding: Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, risk assessments, and technical documentation.
- Planning & Organisation: Skilled in managing project programmes, priorities, resources, and deadlines.
- Communication Skills: Confident in leading meetings and building effective relationships with customers, suppliers, subcontractors, and colleagues.
- Problem Solving: Ability to identify challenges, assess risks, and implement practical solutions and close-out problems.
- Diligence: Strong focus on quality, compliance, documentation, and project governance.
- Customer Focus: Committed to delivering excellent customer service and maintaining long-term customer relationships.
- Team Collaboration: Able to work effectively across departments and contribute to a positive team culture.
