Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Engineer to join our dynamic technology team. Duties
- Provide first and second-line technical support via help desk systems such as ServiceNow and Jira, resolving issues related to hardware, software, and network connectivity.
- Assist users with desktop support across Windows and macOS operating systems, including troubleshooting Microsoft Office applications and other productivity tools.
- Manage and maintain Active Directory accounts, user permissions, and group policies to ensure security compliance.
- Support server infrastructure including Microsoft Windows Server environments, Linux systems, DNS configurations, TCP/IP settings, VPN connectivity, firewalls, and LAN/WAN networks.
- Utilise SCCM for software deployment and system updates; manage BMC Remedy for incident tracking and resolution documentation.
- Conduct hardware diagnostics and repairs on computers, peripherals, and network devices; oversee the installation of new hardware components.
- Analyse system logs and network traffic to identify potential issues or security threats; implement preventative measures accordingly.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that optimise system performance and security protocols.
- Document technical procedures and solutions clearly for future reference; provide training or guidance to end-users when necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience in IT support roles with a strong understanding of computer networking principles such as TCP/IP, DNS, LAN/WAN architecture.
- Proficiency in operating systems including Windows (desktop and server), macOS, and Linux environments.
- Hands-on experience with Active Directory management, Microsoft Windows Server administration, VPN setup, firewall configuration, and TCP protocols.
- Familiarity with IT service management tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, SCCM, BMC Remedy; ability to document incidents accurately.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in software applications (Microsoft Office suite) and hardware components.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical users.
- Analytical mindset with good problem-solving abilities; capable of prioritising tasks effectively under pressure.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Fundamentals or similar are advantageous but not essential.
