We are looking for a General Manager for our Village Pub Situated in the heart of Northumberland. The GM will control the daily operations across the restaurant bar and guest rooms and ensure the correct operational procedures are followed at all times.
Responsibilities
- Driving P&L performance to meet targeted cost percentages (e.g. Cost of Sales, Payroll costs, etc.) and maximise operating income.
- Builds sales by focusing on operational excellence; understanding customer needs and desires; and working closely with the external Marketing Consultant on specific sales building programs
- Ensure that essential daily accounting functions are performed (e.g. recording daily sales, deposit of daily receipts,; reconciling cash floats, and ensuring electronic back-up procedures are in place and followed).
- Is responsible for driving customer satisfaction
- Ensures a safe working and customer experience environment by facilitating safe work behaviours of the team; ensures proper product handling; and maintains proper cash-handling procedures.
- Ensures the verification of the delivery of quantity and quality of goods provided by vendors; ensures equipment repair and maintenance, including preventive maintenance basics; ensures a Maintenance Log and Preventive Maintenance Checklist is maintained; provides input for vendor negotiations; and completes first call to vendors for follow-up if work is unsatisfactory.
- The GM will be required to be hands on working a productive 40 hours in addition to any other tasks that my be needed to satisfy the needs of the business.
- The GM is responsible for conducting monthly meetings with the entire team.
- Responsible for overall staff development, including overseeing the training for all team members.
- Is responsible for all staff scheduling; maintaining adequate staff levels to enable effective operations and meet performance goals;
- Maintains an environment free of harassment and discrimination. Resolves store-level employee relations activities with assistance provided by the External Consultant; is proactive in handling employee relations issues; ensures execution of policies, practices, and programs; manages relations and resolves disputes.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in either the Retail/Hospitality management
- Strong understanding of profit and loss.
- Ensure you and your team provide a fantastic customer service experience.
- Strong communication of HR processes and procedures
- Complete administration, stock take and banking/finance duties

Salary: £28,600 - £30,000 per annum
