About Us
At QUBA, we’re redefining recruitment funding.
As a fast-growing fintech specialising in invoice finance for the recruitment sector, we provide flexible, technology-driven funding solutions that help ambitious recruitment businesses scale with confidence. By combining smart technology with a highly personal service, we empower recruiters to build successful businesses on their own terms.
Our people are collaborative, commercially minded, and passionate about delivering an exceptional client experience, and we are looking for someone who shares that mindset to join our Business Assurance team on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
The Role
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Business Assurance Officer to support our growing business during a period of maternity leave cover.
Working closely with teams across the business, you will help identify, assess, and manage risk across our operations while ensuring we continue to meet regulatory and internal compliance standards. This is a varied role with exposure to client onboarding, credit risk, due diligence, compliance monitoring, and business assurance activity.
You will play an important role in helping us maintain a strong risk culture while supporting commercial growth in a fast-paced fintech environment.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Managing the shared Business Assurance inbox, supporting colleagues across the business with day-to-day queries, guidance, and escalation of risk or compliance matters.
- Preparing and submitting annual client funding reviews and facility increase assessments.
- Reviewing and approving new client applications for both start-up and established recruitment businesses.
- Conducting Know Your Customer (KYC), due diligence, and credit risk checks in line with internal Credit & Risk policies.
- Producing regular Management Information (MI) reporting on risk, compliance activity, and any identified issues or breaches.
- Supporting colleagues across the business with compliance guidance and escalation of potential risk concerns.
- Monitoring and maintaining internal systems and controls to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance.
- Keeping up to date with regulatory developments and industry best practice, recommending process improvements where appropriate.
- Conducting Business Assurance Testing across operational areas and following up on any remedial actions required.
- Contributing to a positive and risk-aware culture across the organisation.
About You
You will ideally have experience in a risk, compliance, onboarding, or operational control role within financial services, fintech, invoice finance, or recruitment. However, we are equally open to candidates with transferable experience and a willingness to learn. Full training will be provided.
You will thrive in this role if you are:
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable analysing information and making balanced, risk-based decisions.
- A confident communicator with the ability to explain compliance matters clearly and collaboratively.
- Professional, discreet, and able to build trusted working relationships.
- Commercially aware with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving fintech environment.
You will also need:
- Strong Microsoft Office 365 skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the ability to analyse and manipulate data.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
What We Offer:
- Salary: £27,500 – £35,000 depending on experience.
- 12-month fixed-term contract covering maternity leave.
- 22 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, increasing with service.
- Two flexible work-from-home personal days per year.
- Enhanced family leave policies.
- Company life assurance scheme (4x salary).
- 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme and wellbeing support.
- Discounts and perks platform, including retail and restaurant offers.
- Free gym membership.
- Cycle to Work scheme.
- Ongoing learning and development opportunities.
- A supportive, collaborative team culture within a growing fintech business.
