We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Manager to oversee an industrial unit extension project in Somerset. This is a key site-based role where you will take full responsibility for day-to-day operations, ensuring the project is delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standard.
A critical part of this position is direct client liaison, so the successful candidate must be confident, professional, and capable of representing the contractor on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all on-site activity for the industrial unit extension
- Manage subcontractors, trades, and site logistics
- Ensure works are delivered in line with programme and specifications
- Maintain strict health & safety standards on site
- Conduct regular progress meetings with the client and stakeholders
- Provide clear updates and reporting to both client and senior management
- Resolve site issues efficiently and proactively
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Site Manager on industrial or commercial projects
- Strong track record of managing extensions or similar builds
- Confident dealing directly with clients and stakeholders
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid tickets (essential)
- Ability to work autonomously and lead a team effectively
