Advanced Practitioner – Safeguarding Social Work

Rate: £35.19 per hour

Sanctuary Personnel is currently recruiting an experienced Social Work Advanced Practitioner (Safeguarding) to join a well-established local authority team in North Tyneside. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident senior practitioner looking to take on a leadership-focused role within a supportive safeguarding service.
About the Role
As an Advanced Practitioner within the Safeguarding team, you will play a key role in supporting complex cases, providing professional guidance to social workers, and ensuring high standards of practice across the service. You will work closely with managers and partner agencies to deliver effective safeguarding interventions for children and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support complex safeguarding cases involving children and families
- Provide supervision, mentoring, and practice guidance to social workers
- Lead on risk assessment, decision-making, and care planning
- Chair and contribute to multi-agency meetings and strategy discussions
- Ensure statutory duties are met in line with legislation and local procedures
- Support quality assurance, audits, and service improvement initiatives
- Act as a role model for best practice in safeguarding social work
Requirements
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration
- Significant post-qualifying experience within children’s safeguarding services
- Previous experience at Senior Practitioner or Advanced Practitioner level
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policy, and thresholds
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced statutory environment
