Key Responsibilities
- Safely deliver windows, doors, and related products to customers across the South Coast.
- Load and unload vehicles safely and securely, ensuring products are protected from damage.
- Carry out daily vehicle safety checks and accurately complete vehicle inspection records.
- Plan routes efficiently and ensure deliveries are completed on time.
- Ensure all delivery paperwork, Proof of Delivery and delivery documentation are completed accurately.
- Provide a professional, courteous, and helpful service to customers at all times.
- Build positive working relationships with customers and represent the company in a professional manner.
- Secure loads correctly and comply with all road transport legislation and company procedures.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, delays, or delivery issues promptly to the Logistics Manager.
- Follow Drivers' Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive, and tachograph legislation.
- Assist within the warehouse when required, including loading vehicles and preparing orders.
- Maintain the cleanliness and general condition of your assigned vehicle.
- Work flexibly as delivery routes and workloads vary from day to day.
- Adhere to all Health & Safety policies and safe manual handling procedures.
- Report directly to the Logistics Manager and communicate effectively with the transport team throughout the day.
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A full, clean UK driving licence.
- DVLA Category C1 (7.5 Tonne) entitlement.
- Valid Driver CPC (DCPC) qualification.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- At least 1 year's experience driving a 7.5 tonne vehicle.
- Good knowledge of Drivers' Hours Regulations and Working Time legislation.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- A positive, reliable, and flexible approach to work.
- The ability to carry out physically demanding work, including heavy lifting.
Desirable
- Experience delivering building materials, windows, doors, or glass products.
- Forklift experience (training can be provided if required).
- A willingness to progress within the company and undertake 12.5 Tonne Driver Training.
