Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Domiciliary Care Assistant to provide high-quality support to individuals within their own homes. Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
- Support with daily living activities including meal preparation, medication reminders, and light housekeeping
- Help clients maintain their independence by encouraging participation in activities and social engagement
- Follow personalised care plans accurately to meet individual needs and preferences
- Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a trusting relationship with clients
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns or changes in clients’ health to relevant professionals
- Adhere to health and safety guidelines, including infection control procedures and safeguarding policies
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and communication purposes effectively
Skills
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to interact effectively with clients and team members
- Basic IT literacy for completing documentation and using care management systems
- Driving licence is advantageous for travelling between client locations efficiently
- Experience working within a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided where necessary
- Ability to follow care plans meticulously while demonstrating flexibility to adapt as needed
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients from diverse backgrounds
- Organised, reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
