Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated School Cleaning Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe environment within school premises. This role is vital in ensuring that the school remains a welcoming and healthy space for students, staff, and visitors. Prior experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise classrooms, corridors, toilets, and communal areas to high standards of hygiene
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all designated areas regularly
- Restock supplies such as toilet paper, hand soap, and paper towels as needed
- Dispose of waste responsibly and ensure bins are emptied frequently
- Use cleaning equipment and chemicals safely in accordance with health and safety guidelines
- Report any maintenance issues or damages to the appropriate personnel
- Follow cleaning schedules and procedures accurately to ensure all areas are maintained consistently
- Maintain a professional attitude while working independently or as part of a team
Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is advantageous but not mandatory
- Ability to work efficiently with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills and reliability
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Awareness of health and safety regulations related to cleaning procedures
- Willingness to undertake training on cleaning techniques and safety protocols
