Are you a hands-on mechanical enthusiast with a keen eye for detail?
At ET Hire Ltd, we pride ourselves on providing top-tier equipment that our customers can rely on. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a motivated Tool Hire Test & Run Fitter to join our busy Salford team.
In this role, you are the final line of quality control. You’ll ensure that every piece of kit—from power tools to small plant machinery—leaves our depot in peak condition, safe, and ready to work.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection & Testing: Conduct "Test and Run" procedures on returned equipment to ensure full functionality.
- Maintenance: Perform basic servicing, cleaning, and minor repairs on a wide range of tools (small engines, electrical tools, hydraulic equipment).
- Safety Compliance: Carry out PAT testing and safety checks, ensuring all items meet health and safety standards.
- Documentation: Accurately update service records and "Ready for Hire" tags.
- Workshop Upkeep: Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: A background in mechanical or electrical tool maintenance (previous experience in a tool hire environment is a major plus).
- Technical Skill: Comfortable working with small petrol engines (2-stroke/4-stroke) and electrical power tools.
- Reliability: A "can-do" attitude and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Safety First: A solid understanding of workshop safety and a commitment to quality.
- License: A full UK driving license is essential.
