Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Porter to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our establishment by providing exceptional guest services and maintaining a welcoming environment. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about hospitality and guest relations, with the chance to develop their skills within a new boutique hotel.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet guests warmly and assist with their luggage or belongings as needed
- Conduct regular patrols of the building ensuring all entry points are secure.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of communal areas, including hallways and entrances
- Serve our guests in the residents bar
- Provide information about hotel services, amenities, and local attractions
- Assist with transportation arrangements or requests from guests
- Reset public areas, set up the dining room for breakfasts and ensure all areas are spotless for the morning team.
- Ensure all guest interactions are handled with professionalism and courtesy
- Collaborate with team members to uphold high standards of hospitality and guest satisfaction
- Act as primary point of contact for emergencies, including fire alarms or first aid incidents.
What we are looking for
- Previous experience in hotel or hospitality environments is preferred but not essential
- Excellent communication skills, including polite phone etiquette
- Reliability, you are a 'night owl' who is comfortable working independently and on their own.
- A friendly, approachable demeanour with a genuine desire to assist guests
- Professionalism, a smart appearance and a calm, polite manner even in a crisis.
- Knowledge of local area attractions and services is advantageous
