About the Role
ScotForce Healthcare are looking for reliable, experienced and confident Registered Nurses to join our core team, supporting older adults in nursing homes across Scotland.
As a ScotForce Nurse, you may sometimes work alongside other nurses, but at times you’ll also take the lead - being in charge of a unit, floor, or even an entire service during shifts such as nights. That means you need the confidence and competence to step in, take charge of unfamiliar teams, and quickly adapt to new environments.
We’re not about the odd shift here and there. We’re about building lasting relationships with our staff and clients. That’s why we offer regular, ongoing work across nursing homes where demand is consistently high.
Whether you’re looking for 2 shifts per week or closer to full-time hours (4+ shifts), we have opportunities to match.
Why Join ScotForce Healthcare?
- Regular Work – Nurses who provide broad weekly availability benefit from consistent hours and become part of our trusted core team.
- Lots of Opportunities – With strong demand across the areas we’re recruiting for, we can offer anything from 2 to 6 shifts per week depending on your availability.
- Flexibility with Structure – You choose your availability, but it should include a reasonable mix of shifts (days/nights) and enough days each week to secure regular work.
- Great Pay & Benefits – Earn up to £30.82 per hour (including holiday pay), plus bank holiday enhancements, free uniform, and referral bonuses up to £500.
- Recognition & Rewards – Be valued for more than just the hours you work. From quarterly awards to referral bonuses, we celebrate the people who make ScotForce what it is.
- Training & Development – Accredited in-house trainers, external providers, and online modules to support your professional growth.
- 24/7 Support Team – Always on hand to help you manage your work and get the most out of it.
- Career Opportunities – Access to opportunities with our client partners.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for Nurses who want to build a consistent, rewarding career with ScotForce - not just pick up the occasional shift. Our nurses choose us as their primary workplace and thrive because of it.
The staff who succeed with us share these qualities:
- Reliable & Committed – You turn up when you say you will and want ongoing, regular work.
- Available – You can offer at least 3 days of availability each week to secure a minimum of 2 shifts. Our core nurses typically work between 2 and 5 shifts per week, depending on their needs and preferences - giving you the option of consistent part-time or full-time work.
- Wants Security and Continuity – Looking for regular, ongoing work, not one-off shifts.
- Flexible & Adaptable – You value the balance this role offers: real flexibility in choosing when and how much you work, paired with a willingness to adapt to client needs. Sometimes that means leading unfamiliar teams and running shifts.
- Communicative – You keep us informed, respond promptly, and give clear feedback on the services you work in.
- Positive & Professional – You bring a great attitude, take pride in your work, and are valued by clients and colleagues alike.
Requirements
- NMC Registration (RGN, RMN, or RNLD).
- Minimum of 12 months’ post-registration experience with older adults in the UK.
- Experience working in nursing homes, or extensive experience nursing older people in other settings.
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle is required.
- Willingness to Travel – While we always aim to secure opportunities as close to home as possible (and much of our work is local), consistent hours often depend on some flexibility. We’ll agree with you what a realistic travel distance looks like to meet your needs and preferences.
- PVG Scheme membership.
- NMC revalidation up to date.
- A caring, professional approach and genuine passion for delivering safe, person-centred care.
- We cannot offer visa sponsorship – you must already have the right to work in the UK.
