Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled HV/LV Cable Puller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing and maintaining high and low voltage electrical cables in various industrial and commercial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work safely in challenging environments. Duties
- Pulling, installing, and securing HV/LV cables in designated areas, ensuring compliance with safety standards and technical specifications.
- Operating heavy machinery such as excavators to assist with cable laying projects where necessary.
- Using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to facilitate cable installation and maintenance tasks.
- Welding components or sections of cable trays or conduits as required to ensure secure connections.
- Conducting routine inspections of cables and associated equipment to identify potential issues or faults.
- Assisting with the setup and dismantling of work sites, including the safe handling of materials and equipment.
- Applying mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot installation issues and perform minor repairs or adjustments.
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications
- Proven experience with electrical installations, particularly HV/LV cable work.
- Proficiency in operating excavators and familiarity with welding techniques.
- Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
- Strong mechanical knowledge relevant to cable pulling operations and electrical systems.
- Electrical experience or background is highly desirable.
- Ability to read technical drawings, diagrams, and specifications related to electrical installations.
