Overview
We are seeking a skilled Warehouse Operator and FLT Driver to join our team in Leicester. This role involves managing warehouse operations, operating forklifts safely, and supporting materials handling processes. The ideal candidate will have previous warehouse experience, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The position offers an opportunity to utilise your forklift driving skills while contributing to the smooth flow of goods within our facility.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklift trucks safely and efficiently to load, unload, and move materials throughout the warehouse
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory management
- Use warehouse management systems to track stock levels, locations, and movements
- Conduct basic equipment repairs and maintenance as required to ensure operational safety and efficiency
- Handle materials with care, ensuring proper stacking, storage, and organisation of goods
- Support with stock organisation, cycle counts, and inventory audits
- Assist with general warehouse duties including loading and unloading lorries
- Maintain a clean, organised work environment adhering to health and safety standards
Requirements
- Valid forklift licence recognised in the UK with proven experience operating FLT equipment
- Previous warehouse experience is essential, ideally with knowledge of warehouse management systems
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with equipment repair is advantageous
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and effectively throughout the shift
- Basic maths skills for stock counting and documentation purposes
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in stock handling and record keeping
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Flexibility to work shifts as required within operational hours
