Deputy Manager – Young People’s Residential Home
Location: Bicton, Shrewsbury
Salary: up to £30,800 per year + £3,250 – £6,500 per year for sleep-ins
Hours: 39 hours per week (mix of long days, admin days, and sleep-ins)
Requirements: Full UK Driving Licence

Are you passionate about making a positive difference in young people’s lives? Our client is seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to join their team in Bicton, Shrewsbury. You'll play a vital role in supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties, helping them achieve positive outcomes and realise their full potential.
About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you'll lead by example and mentor a team of Residential Support Workers. You'll provide therapeutic support, structure, and guidance both in the home and for an intensive 26-week placement on a 2:1 basis in a separate annex.
Main responsibilities:
- Managing and mentoring staff
- Ensuring compliance with Ofsted and safeguarding standards
- Handling rotas, budgets, and day-to-day operations
- Creating a nurturing environment for young people
Candidate Requirements
- NVQ Level 3 or above in Children and Young People (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Residential Children's Home
- Understanding of Ofsted legislation and safeguarding procedures
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and hands-on leadership style
- Ability to work flexible shifts and sleep-ins
- Full UK driving licence
