Duties
- Assist clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support with medication administration following prescribed instructions
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Engage clients in social activities and behavioural management strategies to promote mental well-being
- Provide specialised care for clients with Alzheimer’s, dementia or hospice needs
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Monitor health status and report any concerns promptly to healthcare professionals
- Offer emotional support and companionship to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Perform first aid when necessary, adhering to health and safety guidelines
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, nursing home care or home care environments is highly desirable
- Strong understanding of patient care, dementia, Alzheimer’s and hospice care principles
- Excellent caregiving skills with a compassionate approach towards seniors or vulnerable individuals
- Ability to manage behavioural challenges with patience and professionalism
- Competence in medication administration and basic first aid procedures
- Valid driving licence for transportation duties
- Good organisational skills for meal preparation and activity planning
- Physical ability for heavy lifting and assisting with mobility needs
- Effective communication skills to liaise with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Childcare experience or skills are considered an advantage for certain roles within this position
