Key Responsibilities of an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / Commercial Vehicle Technician

Service, maintain and repair HGVs and trailers to DVSA and manufacturer standards

Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults across a modern commercial fleet

Carry out inspections, PMIs and routine servicing accurately and efficiently

Complete all job cards, service sheets and compliance documentation correctly

Maintain high workshop standards including health, safety and cleanliness

Work effectively as part of a skilled and supportive workshop team

Skills and Qualifications for an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / HGV Fitter / Commercial Vehicle Technician
Essential
-
Proven experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or HGV Fitter
-
Level 3 Heavy Vehicle Maintenance qualification or equivalent (NVQ, City & Guilds or IMI)

Strong diagnostic and fault finding ability

Full UK driving licence preferred
Desirable

Experience working in a fleet, dealership or commercial workshop environment

Trailer experience

Good understanding of DVSA compliance standards
