Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Customer Service Assistant to join our dynamic, style-focused clothing and accessories retailer located in the heart of Birmingham. We are looking for an enthusiastic and approachable Customer Service Assistant to join our growing team and help create an unforgettable shopping experience for our local community and visitors.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Experience: Act as the first point of contact, greeting every customer with a warm and genuine welcome. Offer styling advice, help customers locate sizes, and provide a high standard of personalized service on the shop floor.
- Fitting Room Management: Maintain a clean and organized fitting room area. Assist customers with alternative sizes and styles while respecting their privacy and time.
- Sales and Till Operations: Process transactions accurately and efficiently using the point-of-sale (POS) system. Handle cash, card payments, exchanges, and refunds with professionalism.
- Visual Merchandising & Store Standards: Ensure the shop floor, window displays, and till areas are tidy, fully stocked, and visually appealing at all times.
- Product Knowledge: Maintain an up-to-date understanding of current fashion trends, new arrivals, and store promotions to confidently answer customer queries.
- Stock Management: Assist with stock deliveries, unpacking, ticketing, and organizing inventory in the stockroom.
What We Are Looking For
Experience & Skills: Previous experience in retail or customer service is highly desirable (fashion/accessories background is a major plus). Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills. Confidence in using tills and handling basic mathematical transactions. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, particularly during busy weekend or holiday shifts.
