CAP / Powered Access Engineer
Location: Tonbridge, T12
Salary: up to £50,000

The Role:
An established and fast-growing business is looking for a CAP-qualified Engineer to join its team in Kent. This role is primarily depot-based, with occasional site attendance where required.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring a fleet of MEWPs is safe, compliant, and maintained to the highest standards, playing a key role in statutory inspections and fleet readiness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out CAP / LOLER inspections on powered access equipment
- Service, maintain and repair MEWPs including scissor lifts, boom lifts and access platforms
- Complete pre-delivery inspections (PDIs) and fault diagnostics
- Identify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues and carry out repairs
- Ensure all equipment complies with LOLER, PUWER and company safety standards
- Accurately complete inspection reports, service records and job documentation
- Liaise with depot staff and operations to ensure fleet availability
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised workshop environment
Requirements:
- CAP qualification (Competent Assessed Person) – essential
- Previous experience working with powered access / MEWPs
- Strong understanding of LOLER and PUWER regulations
- Mechanical, electrical and/or hydraulic engineering experience
- IPAF licences
- Reliable, safety-focused and able to work independently
