Step Into Teaching is partnering with a wonderful primary school in Wakefield that is seeking a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join their team. This school is known for its warm, welcoming, and friendly environment, providing a safe and inclusive space where all students feel valued and are encouraged to make outstanding progress in their learning.
As an LSA, you’ll play a key role in supporting students with a range of needs, including those with an Education, Health, and Care plan (EHCP) for Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH). Your support will ensure these students are given the tools to thrive both academically and personally in a positive and nurturing classroom environment.
The Learning Support Assistant (LSA) opportunity:
- Learning support assistant role
- Primary School in Wakefield
- £500 - £530 a week (term time only)
- Full time Monday – Friday
- Brilliant way to gain hands on experience before going on to teacher training
- Start September 2026 - July 2027
The successful Learning Support Assistant (LSA) must:
- Hold a degree psychology or related (2:2 or above)
- Able to handle challenging situations with ease and inspire and motivate.
- Be passionate about supporting and inspiring students to reach their full potential and achieve excellence.
- Be passionate about supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.
- Have a strong commitment to helping children overcome challenges and succeed.
- Be enthusiastic, patient, and able to work effectively within a team.
- Hold outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Have an inspirational and reflective mindset within the classroom
- Demonstrate a commitment to promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults
