We are currently recruiting compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Workers to join our growing team supporting individuals within mental health services across the Maidstone area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about delivering high-quality care and making a genuine difference in people’s lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality support to individuals experiencing mental health difficulties
- Assist service users with daily living activities and emotional support
- Promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing at all times
- Observe, monitor, and accurately report changes in behaviour or mental state
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and multidisciplinary teams
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment in accordance with safeguarding procedures
- Respond appropriately to challenging behaviour using approved de-escalation techniques
Essential Requirements
- Valid PMVA Training (Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression)
- In date DBS certificate on the update service
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
- Flexible and reliable approach to shift work
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable Requirements
- Minimum 6 months’ experience within an NHS environment
- Previous experience supporting individuals with mental health needs
- Understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care principles
