Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Years Teaching Assistant to support young children in their educational and developmental journey. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to create a nurturing environment that promotes learning, social skills, and emotional well-being. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, including autism and disabilities. Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities for young children
- Support children with special educational needs, including those with autism or disabilities, ensuring inclusive participation
- Provide one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to help children achieve their learning goals
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment conducive to learning and development
- Observe and record children's progress, behaviour, and specific needs to inform planning and support strategies
- Support children during playtime, mealtimes, and rest periods to promote social interaction and emotional security
- Communicate effectively with children, teachers, parents, and external specialists to ensure cohesive support
- Implement personalised learning plans under the guidance of teaching staff
Requirements
- Prior experience or training in special education or working with individuals with disabilities is highly desirable
- Experience working with children in educational or childcare settings
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, colleagues, and parents
- Knowledge of working with individuals with autism or other special needs is advantageous
- Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach towards young learners
- Relevant qualifications in early childhood education or related fields are preferred but not essential; willingness to undertake training is expected
- A commitment to promoting inclusive education and supporting diverse learning needs
