Registered Children's Home ManagerOverview
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and dedicated Registered Children's Home Manager to lead and oversee the operation of a residential children's home. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that children and young people receive outstanding care and support within a safe, nurturing, and therapeutic environment.

The ideal candidate will have substantial experience within children's residential care, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to develop and support high-performing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide effective leadership and management of the children's home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, child-centred care.
- Ensure the home operates in accordance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, safeguarding legislation, and Ofsted requirements.
- Create and maintain a safe, stable, and nurturing environment that promotes the wellbeing, development, and independence of children and young people.
- Lead, supervise, and develop a skilled staff team through regular supervision, performance management, and continuous professional development.
- Ensure comprehensive care plans, risk assessments, placement plans, and behaviour support strategies are implemented, reviewed, and updated as required.
- Promote positive relationships with children, families, social workers, education providers, healthcare professionals, and other partner agencies.
- Manage safeguarding concerns effectively and ensure all incidents are appropriately recorded, reported, and reviewed.
- Oversee recruitment, induction, training, and retention of staff to maintain a competent and resilient workforce.
- Manage staffing rotas, budgets, resources, and occupancy levels effectively to ensure the efficient operation of the home.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, implementing improvements and driving continuous service development.
- Ensure children and young people are actively involved in decisions affecting their lives and are supported to achieve their individual goals and aspirations.
- Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections, ensuring the home consistently achieves and maintains high standards.
Essential Requirements
- Significant experience working within children's residential care, including experience in a leadership or management position.
- Previous experience of managing or deputising within an Ofsted-regulated children's home.
- In-depth knowledge of safeguarding procedures, child protection legislation, and children's social care frameworks.
- Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, professionals, and stakeholders.
- Experience of managing budgets, staffing, and service performance.
- Excellent report writing, record-keeping, and organisational skills.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or willingness to achieve within regulatory timescales).
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent relevant qualification).
- Full UK driving licence.

Pay: £30,523.00-£57,260.90 per year
