Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Warehouse Picker/Packer to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately selecting and packing products, ensuring efficient stock management, and maintaining high standards of quality control. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within a dynamic warehouse environment, supporting smooth shipping and receiving operations. Candidates should possess strong materials handling abilities, mechanical knowledge, and experience with warehouse management systems. Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided.
Duties
- Select items from stock using picking lists and warehouse management systems with accuracy and efficiency
- Pack products securely for shipment, ensuring protection during transit
- Load and unload goods from lorries using appropriate equipment such as forklifts (training provided if necessary)
- Assist with stock replenishment and organise storage areas to optimise space utilisation
- Conduct quality control checks to verify product integrity and order accuracy
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Support shipping & receiving processes by preparing goods for dispatch or receipt
- Operate mechanical equipment safely, including forklifts, adhering to company procedures
- Assist with inventory counts and stock audits as required
Experience
- Prior experience in a warehouse environment is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for all necessary procedures
- Familiarity with materials handling, picking & packing, and stock management systems is desirable
- Mechanical knowledge or experience operating forklifts is a plus but not essential; relevant training will be available
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently throughout the shift
- Proven organisational skills with attention to detail in fast-paced settings
- Good understanding of quality control standards within warehousing operations
