Location: Chelmsford, Essex (Face-to-Face Home Tuition)
Hours: 12 hours per week (3 hours per day, 4 days per week)

We are seeking an experienced and engaging SEND tutor to support a highly intelligent Year 5 learner who is currently awaiting specialist school placement.
Please note, the student is in year 5 however working at approximately Year 6/7 level.
This is a rewarding opportunity to work one-to-one with an academically advanced young person who is working significantly above age-related expectations, particularly in mathematics and English. The learner has a diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and ADHD and requires a tutor who can build trust, adapt creatively, and deliver learning in a flexible, low-pressure way.
About the Learner;
- Working at approximately Year 6/7 level in maths and reading, please be aware lessons will need to
- Exceptionally strong reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Advanced vocabulary and excellent reading comprehension
- Passionate about maths, coding, gaming, science, current affairs, and classical music
- Plays multiple musical instruments and enjoys creative projects
- Benefits from interest-led, personalised learning approaches
The Ideal Tutor Will;
- Have substantial experience supporting learners with ASD and ADHD
- Be confident delivering highly differentiated lessons across core subjects
- Be patient, calm, and skilled at building positive relationships
- Use low-arousal, non-confrontational communication styles
- Understand executive functioning difficulties and emotional regulation needs
- Be flexible and creative in adapting learning activities
- Be comfortable incorporating games, technology, and learner interests into sessions

Environment;
Tuition will take place in the family home with a parent available on site throughout sessions. A dedicated learning space is provided.
This role would suit an experienced SEND tutor, specialist teacher, SEMH practitioner, or educator who enjoys working with academically gifted learners requiring a highly personalised approach.
Pay: £26.00-£35.00 per hour
