YouGarden.com is looking for a motivated and practical Team Leader to join our busy plant nursery in Surfleet, working directly with live plantsand horticultural production.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of a key plant production and dispatch area within a successful and growing online gardening retailer. If you enjoy leading from the front, working with plants, improving processes, and supporting high-quality plant care and handling, this could be the role for you.
The Role
As Team Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations within your designated area, ensuring orders are processed efficiently, quality standards are maintained, and your team is engaged and performing at their best.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervising, motivating and supporting a small team of nursery staff
- Managing pick and pack operations to meet daily dispatch targets
- Overseeing and maintaining the potting machine to ensure smooth operation
- Identifying and implementing efficiency improvements, including automation-driven processes
- Monitoring output, workflow and team performance
- Ensuring health & safety compliance across your area
- Providing hands-on operational support when required
About You
We’re looking for someone who combines operational awareness with strong people leadership.
Essential:
- Experience in a commercial nursery, horticultural, warehouse, or production environment
- Previous experience supervising or leading a small team
- Full UK driving licence
- Competent in Microsoft Office, including Excel
- Willingness to work weekends on a rota basis

Many of our plants can be grown on balconies, small patios and decking, so you can catch the growing bug, and even grow your own freshest fruit and vegetables too.
We speak in plain English. Sometimes gardening can be a confusing maze of Latin names and strange words and can be confusing or off-putting - we simplify all and remove all the jargon and give you down to earth advice on what to grow – and how!
