Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced sous chef to join our dynamic kitchen team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing traditional, high quality dishes in a fast-paced pub environment, ensuring all food safety standards are adhered to. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about traditional English pub cuisine. The ideal candidate will have experience as a sous chef in a similar high pressure pub environment with a proven track record.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to specified recipes and standards
- Assist in meal preparation, ensuring timely delivery during busy service periods
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in compliance with food safety regulations
- Monitor food quality and presentation before serving
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Support team members during peak hours to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Restock ingredients and supplies as needed, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained
- Adhere to portion control guidelines to minimise waste and maximise efficiency
- Stock ordering and stock management.
Experience
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen essential.
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods
- Certifications in food safety standards and hygiene practices essential.
- Experience with meal preparation, plating, and presentation skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Stock ordering and stock management.
