Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria
Hours: Full-Time and Part-Time Opportunities Available

Pay Rate: £14.25 – £17.35 per hour
Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a dedicated, patient, and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil on a 1:1 basis at a welcoming primary school in the Barrow-in-Furness area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support for a pupil with SEND in the classroom environment
- Support the pupil to access the curriculum and classroom activities
- Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
- Promote independence, confidence, and engagement
- Support social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO
- Implement strategies outlined in support plans/EHCP
- Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Maintain a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEND is essential
- Previous experience in a similar role or within a school setting is highly desirable
- Childcare or SEND-related qualifications are preferred but not essential
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Patient, caring, and adaptable approach
- A valid enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to apply for one)
- Right to work in the UK
- A full and up-to-date CV
