The Production Operative - Paint is responsible for all tasks in relation to the prepping of doors/ancillaries for the paint spraying process, and for the movement of products throughout the painted cell, This includes surface preparation, masking, cleaning, sanding, and paint mixing to ensure all items meet quality and safety standards prior to paint application.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparing doors/ancillaries for spraying, including masking-off, taping, cleaning, degreasing, and abrading of the surface
- Mixing of paint for the sprayers
- Hanging Doors on to the paint line and placing doors on to drying racks after the oven
- Moving doors between the paint booths and ovens, and on to the next stages of production
- Inspect surfaces for defects such as scratches, dents, or contamination and report any issues to the Supervisor
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring materials, tools, and consumables are stored correctly.
- Adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies, including proper handling of hazardous materials and PPE usage.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance paint preparation quality, efficiency, and workflow.
- Collaborate closely with paint sprayers, quality inspectors, and other production team members to meet production schedules.
- Complete all relevant job documentation, including preparation checklists and quality records.
- Be responsible for your safety and that of co-workers by following company guidelines, policies and procedures, maintaining a tidy and organised work environment and escalating any issues that may arise.
- Complete training necessary to undertake a range of tasks in the Production Environment.
- Complete work to a high standard, escalate any Quality issues and do not pass sub-standard work on to the next process.
- Ensure the work you undertake is properly reported on the production system (barcode scanning).
- All other duties as assigned by management, including in other areas
The successful candidate will have:
- Worked within the paint and finishing industry.
- Experience and a proven history of following SOP’s
- Strong attention to detail and an eye for quality.
- A ‘can do’ flexible attitude
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Reliability, being able to show an excellent timekeeping and attendance record
