Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled CLASS 2 HI-AB Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for loanding and transporting goods safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries and safe offloading, while adhering to all road safety regulations. This role requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to handle various sizes and shapes of cargo, including flatbed deliveries.
Responsibilities
- Operate lorries in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and unload cargo, securing it properly for transport, particularly when handling flatbed deliveries.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Follow all company policies regarding safety procedures and protocols during transportation.
- Assist in the training of new drivers as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid HGV licence.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for safe driving.
- Ability to operate flatbed lorries and secure loads effectively.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with customers and team members.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, particularly in addressing any issues that arise during transport.
