A welcoming and supportive Primary School in Worcester is seeking a confident Year 1 Class Teacher to join their team full-time from September until December initially, with the potential for the role to continue into the new year.
This role is ideal for a passionate Year 1 Teacher who can confidently plan and deliver engaging lessons, maintain a positive learning environment, and support pupils through this important stage of their education. As a Year 1 Teacher, you will take full class teaching responsibility including planning, marking, assessment, and attending staff meetings. The school is looking for someone with a strong understanding of phonics and the KS1 curriculum who can create an inclusive and engaging classroom environment where all pupils can thrive.
As a Year 1 Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the KS1 national curriculum.
Taking full class teaching responsibility for a Year 1 class.
Delivering high-quality phonics sessions to support early reading development.
Assessing, tracking, and reporting on pupil progress.
Creating a warm, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
Attending staff meetings and working collaboratively with teaching staff, support staff, and senior leaders.
Supporting pupils’ emotional wellbeing and academic development.
To be successful in this Year 1 Teacher role, you will need:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
Previous experience teaching within KS1 or during teaching placements.
A strong understanding of phonics and the KS1 curriculum.
Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
A flexible, reliable, and professional approach.
The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
