The Role
As Interim HR Manager, you'll be the go-to expert for employee relations, organisational change, and employment legislation. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting managers and leadership teams through critical business projects while ensuring compliance and best-practice HR standards.
This is a hands-on role requiring confidence, resilience, and the ability to balance strategic thinking with practical delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead redundancy programmes from planning through to implementation
- Manage consultation processes, restructures, and organisational change initiatives
- Oversee and support TUPE transfers, ensuring legal compliance and a positive employee experience
- Provide expert guidance on complex employee relations matters
- Partner with managers to deliver effective people solutions aligned to business objectives
- Ensure compliance with current UK employment legislation and HR best practice
- Support policy development and implementation where required
- Maintain accurate HR records, documentation, and reporting
About You
You'll be an experienced HR professional who can quickly establish credibility and confidently manage sensitive and complex people matters.
Essential Skills & Experience
✔ Significant experience in a senior HR Manager, HR Business Partner, or equivalent role
✔ Strong hands-on experience managing:
- Redundancy programmes
- Consultation and restructuring processes
- TUPE transfers
- Complex employee relations cases
✔ Up-to-date knowledge of UK employment law
✔ Excellent communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills
✔ Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
✔ Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
Desirable
- CIPD Level 5 or above (or equivalent experience)
Essential Requirements
- Hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate or be willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS check
- Available to commit to a 3–6 month contract
- Able to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Based within commuting distance of Sherborne, Dorset
