Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Agency Support Worker specialising in complex and challenging needs, with a valid driving license and access to their own vehicle.
This role involves providing high-quality care to individuals with diverse health conditions, including dementia and Alzheimer's, within care homes, assisted living facilities, or in clients' own homes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting service users with daily activities, medication administration, and behaviour management, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals requiring specialised care.
Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised care plans tailored to each individual's needs, including assistance with personal hygiene, mobility, and daily routines
- Administer medication accurately in accordance with prescribed instructions and maintain detailed records
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring nutritional requirements are met
- Assist with activities of daily living such as dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Manage behaviour effectively using approved de-escalation techniques and behaviour management strategies
- Provide emotional support and companionship to promote mental well-being
- Safely transport clients to appointments or social activities using a company vehicle, adhering to all road safety regulations
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and report any concerns or changes in health status promptly
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to ensure a clean and safe environment for clients
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals and case managers to deliver cohesive support
Requirements
- Valid driving licence with clean driving record is essential for transporting clients safely
- Previous experience working in care environments such as supported living, complex needs or learning disabilities is essential
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, and patient care procedures
- Skills in dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, hospice care, and behaviour management are advantageous
- Certification or training in first aid is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to undertake relevant training is essential
- Ability to handle heavy lifting safely when assisting clients with mobility or transfers
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple care plans effectively
- Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Flexibility to work various shifts as required by service needs

Pay: £174.00-£810.00 per week
