We’re opening a brand-new 5 bed home, designed to a high spec so it feels like a real home – warm, modern and somewhere our young people and the team can genuinely be proud of.
We care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs, sometimes alongside ASD. Our homes use therapeutic approaches such as trauma and attachment, PACE and PBS, always keeping the child at the centre.
As Team Leader, you’ll be a key part of the core team from the very start, helping to shape the culture, routines and standards of the home.

The role
As Team Leader, you’ll be one of the key people leading shifts and setting the tone in the home. You will:
- Lead day and evening shifts, ensuring consistent, child-centred practice.
- Work a 2 on / 4 off rota pattern as part of the core team.
- Supervise and support Children's practitioner, acting as a positive role model.
- Take the lead on day-to-day decision-making, safeguarding and incident management on shift.
· Support with Children’s Practitioners deployment, handovers and ensuring safe staffing levels.
- Complete supervisions, ongoing check-ins and contribute to performance management.
- Contribute to care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
- Build positive, trusting relationships with young people, families and professionals.
- Promote routines, structure and boundaries that support safety and emotional regulation.
- Maintain clear, accurate records, logs and reports.
- After probation, take part in the manager on-call rota (with enhanced payments).
What we’re looking for
You must:
- Have experience in children’s residential care – working in a children’s home with young people with emotional behaviour difficulty’s, challenging behaviour, SEN/LD needs.
- Have started or completed a Level 3 or Level 4 qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
We’re also looking for someone who:
- Is confident leading shifts and supporting their team in a busy, sometimes challenging environment.
- Has a calm, trauma-informed approach and can model good practice for others.
- Understands Children’s Homes Regulations and Quality Standards, or is keen to learn.
- Is organised and able to juggle paperwork alongside direct work with young people.
- Can work a rolling rota including weekends, evenings and bank holidays.
- Is a driver with a full UK driving licence (essential)
- Is resilient, reflective and willing to learn and grow with the home.
Is aged 21 or over, in line with Children’s Homes Regulations.
