Overview
We are seeking a reliable and motivated Warehouse Operative to join our team. This role involves a variety of tasks essential to the efficient operation of our warehouse, including materials handling, stock management, and shipping and receiving procedures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced environment. Previous warehouse experience and basic electrical knowledge are advantageous, but full training will be provided for suitable applicants. Responsibilities
- Handling materials efficiently and safely across the warehouse premises
- Operating warehouse machinery in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Managing stock levels using warehouse management systems (WMS) to ensure accurate inventory records
- Assisting with shipping and receiving activities, including loading and unloading lorries
- Picking and packing orders accurately to meet customer requirements
- Restocking shelves and ensuring stock is organised logically for easy access
- Conducting quality control checks to maintain high standards of product integrity
- Performing mechanical tasks related to equipment maintenance or troubleshooting when necessary
- Ensuring the workspace remains clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards
- Assisting with general warehouse duties as required to support team operations
Experience
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred but not essential; full training will be provided for motivated candidates
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques and warehouse machinery operation (e.g., forklift) is advantageous
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory software is desirable
- Experience in shipping & receiving processes, picking & packing, stocking, and quality control will be beneficial
- Electrical aptitude or knowledge of basic maintenance procedures is a plus
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
- Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail and accuracy in all duties undertaken
